The Regional Office of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization (AIDSMO) in Cairo concluded a training course on “Concepts and Applications of Green Hydrogen Technology and the Future of the Energy Sector: Realities, Difficulties, and Challenges.” The course was held from May 19-22, 2025, at the headquarters of the Arab Administrative Development Organization in Cairo. The course was held in cooperation with Professor Dr. Mohamed Gamal Kafafi, President of the World Council for Green Economy, Senior Energy Advisor at the United Nations Development Fund, and Founding President of the International University for Science and Technology. Nine participants from the Arab Republic of Egypt, representing leading public and private sector companies, participated in the course, along with representatives from the Egyptian Natural Gas Company (GASCO), the South Dabaa Petroleum Company, and the Petroleum Research Institute. Over the course of four days, several topics related to energy efficiency concepts, their benefits, and applications were discussed, including resource efficiency, energy efficiency labels, time value of money analysis, and an introduction to payback periods, break-even analysis, opportunity cost analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and life cycle cost analysis. The course topics included efficient lighting systems, energy efficiency of electrical motors and transformers, energy efficiency of heating and ventilation systems, green hydrogen, cogeneration and tri-generation (CCHP & CHP), steps for planning, implementation and monitoring of energy loss reduction, and green hydrogen generation and use. Participants were awarded certificates of appreciation for their participation at the closing ceremony, and the lecturer was also awarded a certificate of thanks and appreciation for his efforts during the training course.
