Proficiency testing is an important element in quality assurance in industrial institutions, companies, calibration and testing laboratories, and can be used to determine the effectiveness and comparability of testing or measurement methods to identify problems in quality management systems. Participation in proficiency testing provides industrial institutions and companies with valuable insights into their performance and the reliability of their analysis results, as accredited proficiency testing providers prove that they have conducted comparisons between laboratories in accordance with the requirements of the stringent international standard ISO / IEC 17043. Technical proficiency testing aims to ensure the efficiency of laboratories of government and private bodies accredited or wishing to be accredited. It also aims to evaluate the performance of measurement and calibration processes conducted by laboratories through inter-comparisons between the laboratories of these bodies, institutions and government and private industrial companies to improve the level of services provided by these bodies to reach the most accurate results in order to raise the efficiency of products, advance the national industrial system and increase competitiveness through mutual recognition of measurement results and open new foreign markets.
Based on the role played by the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization as an Arab house of expertise that works to support sustainable development in Arab countries and work to raise the competitiveness of industrial products by developing capabilities and skills Arab human cadres, and in this context comes the preparation for holding this specialized workshop in the field of (technical proficiency tests, statistical calculations, and performance evaluation in industrial institutions and companies according to the requirements of international standard specifications “ISO 13528″ 17043 ISO/IEC”).
