The quality level of the product provided by industrial institutions and companies is affected by many surrounding technical and administrative conditions and factors that may lead to a change in the quality level. This change is considered a natural and expected matter as long as it is at an acceptable and safe level that does not affect the level of performance in the different stages of the product.
Statistical methods for quality control aim to monitor, study and analyze the factors affecting the quality of tests, services and products provided by industrial institutions or companies and ensure their stability and non-deviation from the acceptable level. Then, research and work to reduce the sources of change in these factors. The different stages in the process of manufacturing and testing the product are subject to statistical analysis to ensure continuous monitoring and identify the sources of change in the different stages and work to reduce them quickly and effectively.
Statistical methods for quality control are used to determine the optimal conditions and permissible limits. They also aim to monitor the performance levels of the product or service and compare it to the special specifications and set confidence levels to evaluate the performance of the product or service under the permissible conditions.
Failure to apply statistical methods for quality control causes many economic, social and environmental losses as a result of the poor quality level and the possibility of errors occurring during the production stages. Therefore, industrial institutions and companies have responsibilities and obligations To ensure the safety and stability of the product’s quality level under the recommended conditions and duration of use. Within the framework of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization’s interest in following up on everything new and related to developing Arab capabilities in the industrial sector, preparations were made to hold this specialized workshop in the field of (Statistical Methods for Control and Improvement of Process Quality SPC) based on the request of a number of Arab companies and institutions.
