In the context of change management, “change” refers to any change or modification in an organization’s processes, systems, structure, culture, or general way of doing things. Change can take many forms, such as introducing new technologies, implementing new business processes, restructuring the organizational hierarchy, adopting different strategies, or changing the organizational culture. Change can be initiated for a variety of reasons, including the need to improve efficiency, respond to market shifts, implement new technologies, enhance competitiveness, or adapt to external factors. Understanding and managing change is critical for organizations to successfully navigate transformations and achieve their strategic goals. Change requires planning, testing, reporting, scheduling, implementation, documentation, and evaluation. In addition to maintaining an audit trail if there is a need to review and reconsider decisions, documentation is critical to ensuring compliance with internal and external controls, including regulatory requirements.
