The construction sector is a major contributor to carbon dioxide emissions, contributing a significant proportion of global CO2 emissions, which is critical to our climate goals of decarbonization by 2050. However, there are many solutions we can use to reduce CO2 emissions from the construction sector, which are included in the concept of “green buildings,” which focuses on the efficient use of energy, water and other resources, indoor environmental quality, and their impact on the natural environment. The construction sector represents opportunities for significant and cost-effective improvements in green buildings, making it a broad and robust focus for research and development efforts, as there is an urgent need for green buildings on a global scale; To significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and preserve increasingly depleted energy resources, and within the framework of the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization’s interest in following up on everything new and related to developing Arab capabilities in the industrial sector, preparations were made to hold this specialized course on the concepts, applications and advantages of green industrial facilities according to the Green Pyramid System (GPRS) and according to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEED) American system.
