Industrial and petroleum projects in all sectors and at their various levels require the application of total quality concepts to bring Arab products and facilities to the global quality level, as contemporary global challenges require manufacturing companies to adopt a conscious scientific approach in facing these challenges and investing the energies of effective and trained human cadres in developing performance by adopting a new philosophy based on providing the highest levels of quality control, as contracting and implementation companies in the world have begun to pay special attention to total quality, and quality has become the main goal of any facility. The importance of quality as a strategic weapon to obtain a competitive advantage has also been realized to adopt the philosophy of total quality management, considering that quality is the process of integrating all companies’ activities and related functions to reach a distinguished level, considering that it is the responsibility of every individual in the company, as this helps to raise the company’s performance and the quality of its products and occupy advanced positions in global classifications. Global companies have been interested in separating quality control from production to further raise the level of the final product and achieve the required level of product quality from the beginning of manufacturing to the final production stage. With the increasing production of many paint formulations and types available to manufacturing companies, companies produce Advanced types of paint materials to protect surfaces from corrosion, so all those interested and working in the field of surface preparation and application of paint materials must work on the correct understanding of the basics of engineering inspection and monitoring the quality of surface preparation and the necessary tests, as well as how to use measuring devices and quality control on the application of paints on different surfaces, as well as knowledge of international standard specifications in order to obtain the highest levels of quality that give the facility a long period during which it does not need maintenance. In addition, quality control and testing of paint materials before and after application on iron surfaces has become necessary to keep pace with the requirements of industrial and petroleum companies.

Based on the role played by the Arab Industrial Development, Standardization and Mining Organization in working to support industrial development in Arab countries and working to raise the competitiveness of industrial projects, which requires raising the capabilities and skills of Arab human cadres in the industrial and petroleum sector, and within the framework of following up on everything new and related to developing the human element and preparing skilled technical cadres to supervise the manufacturing of industrial and petroleum facilities, preparations have been made to hold this specialized workshop in the field of (quality control of anti-corrosion paint works for industrial and petroleum facilities).
